Elden Ring: How to Use Magic

Elden Ring has a huge number of spells and magical skills, from various kinds of projectiles to fire breath and dragon-tail strikes. How do you properly use magic and turn it on to destroy enemies in packs or smash them from afar? Let’s figure it out.

How do you even use magic in Elden Ring?

First you need to actually find the magic itself – it falls in the form of scrolls from defeated enemies, and it is also given as a reward for quests or careful exploration of the area. Often it can be bought from friendly NPCs.

After that you need to sit near the nearest campfire and set spells in memory cells. This is done in the Explore Enchantments and Prayers menu. The number of slots is limited, you need to look for special stones or amulets to expand. Now you can switch spells, but they will not work just by themselves – you need to equip a staff or seal.

Staffs are responsible for spells, while seals allow you to activate prayers. To activate magic, you need to select the appropriate weapon and press the strike button in the hand, where there is a staff or seal.

Voila, you get magic! She spends mana and deals a lot of damage, if you pump the appropriate weapon and the characteristic. That is, spells from the staff will become stronger if you improve it and throw in a couple of level points in the wisdom, because it will scale skills for staffs. Read it carefully!
