Blizzard Launches 12th Season of Overwatch 2 with New Hero and Game Mode

Gaming news

Blizzard has kicked off the 12th season of the free-to-play first-person multiplayer shooter Overwatch 2, introducing a new support hero named Junona. This latest addition to the game brings a unique set of abilities designed to enhance both offensive and defensive strategies.

Junona’s Unique Abilities

Junona comes equipped with an array of powerful skills that make her a formidable ally on the battlefield. Her primary weapon, the Media Blaster, fires in bursts, healing allies and dealing damage to enemies simultaneously. Her secondary weapon, Pulsar Torpedoes, allows players to select a target and then fire homing projectiles that periodically restore health to allies and inflict damage on enemies.

Junona’s movement abilities include Planar Enhancement, which enables her to glide horizontally at increased speeds, and Martian Boots, which allow her to perform a double jump and hover in mid-air. Her Hyper Ring ability creates a ring that boosts the movement speed of allies passing through it.

Junona’s ultimate ability, Orbital Beam, summons a beam that moves forward, healing allies and increasing their damage output. This powerful skill can turn the tide of battle, making Junona an invaluable asset to any team.

New Game Mode: Clash

In addition to the new hero, the update introduces a new game mode called Clash. In this mode, two teams compete to capture five control points, with each capture awarding one point. Teams can secure victory by either capturing all five points simultaneously or by accumulating five points before the opposing team. Currently, this mode is available on two maps: “Hanaoka” and “Anubis Throne.”

Additional Updates

The latest season also brings a new battle pass, balance changes, and a rating reset. Players can find the complete list of updates and changes on the official website. This comprehensive update aims to keep the game fresh and engaging for both new and veteran players.
