August 2022’s most anticipated games – what to play in August?
August will please us with both major games and indie projects, in which you can stick for a dozen or two hours.
Marvels Spider-Man Remastered
Release Date: August 12, 2022

Let’s start with the major release of the month. Yes, it’s a remaster. But what a remaster! Sony keeps its promises and continues to release its exclusives on PC. This time the”PC boiars” will find out what it’s like to be a real Spider-Man in the big city. In a really big and detailed city.
There’s also a cool story, awesome special effects, nice animations, and unforgettable gameplay dynamics. Not for nothing the original Marvels Spider-Man was called one of the best games of 2018.
What’s new in the remaster? Improved graphics with DLSS support and unlimited frame rate, shadows and reflections based on ray tracing, support for ultra-wide monitors and an optimized interface for PC features. Not too bad, right?
Saints Row

A reboot of the Saints Row series, which has slowly faded (in terms of popularity, but not in the hearts of fans) since the fourth installment was released in 2013. The reboot, however, will be controversial. The developers staked out modern trends and turned Saints World into a hipster-young entertainment citadel.
Old fans were spitting after watching gameplay clips and trailers, newcomers thought the concept of the new Saints Row was pretty good. We’ll know who will win after the release.
For now, let’s remind that the game will take place in the town of Santo Ileso (fictional) in the southwestern United States. We will play as a gang of Saints. We will have to fight for areas of the city with three other criminal formations, completing dizzying missions. There will be humor, detailed character customization, fun missions, unusual mechanics and more. We hope the relaunch proves successful and the series is revived!
Scathe

This first-person shooter can be called”DOOM on minimum”. Although the graphics here are not so bad compared to the brainchild of id Software. We will be running through the levels and destroy hundreds of demons, using a variety of weapons, from shotguns and pistols to rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers and crossbows.
The levels won’t be corridor-based – we’ll be exploring a maze, trying to find a way out. To do this, we’ll have to survive in hand-designed arenas, collect runes and special hellstones, and crush bosses. According to the developers, we are waiting for the merciless bloody-meat fights, which will be remembered for a long time. Well, we believe and want to experience it all quickly!
Cult of the Lamb

And this is an action RPG with dungeons and elements of a colony simulator. With it, we will go to the lands of false prophets and try to create our own cult, going from a humble individual to a true god. The path will not be easy – we will fight with other cults for a place under the sun, recruit new followers, take control of new territories and preach.
In doing so, we will admire the cute two-dimensional graphics with nice special effects and use a wide variety of mechanics, both combat and strategy. Lovers of bloody cartoons like Happy Tree Friends will be very pleased with this game. And other gamers will enjoy this unusual atmosphere too – cuteness will save the world! Or capture, as in the case of Cult of the Lamb.
Axiom Verge 2

Perhaps you have already forgotten or never knew that in 2015 Axiom Verge metroidvania with an unusual pixel world and an alien extermination storyline was born. During its existence the game collected more than 4 thousand reviews on Steam and 91% of them were positive. And now, a sequel is being prepared for release – the fans will definitely appreciate it, and other fans of metroidvans are advised to pay close attention to it.
The sequel will be related to the first installment, but only in features of the universe – the characters, skills, enemies and gameplay will be completely new. We will explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, defeat monsters, use drones to penetrate conjugate realities and explore locations for hidden enhancements and secrets. Retro first-person shooter with only one global problem in the world – not all people follow fashion. For this reason, the Fashion Police was created. Its stylish fighters patrol the streets and look for those who like to wear socks with sandals, wear baggy jeans and do not follow the”hype themes”.
We will join the Fashion Police Squad and begin to bring order to the streets of Trendopolis. In our hands we will have a variety of weapons, from belts (of course, stylish and fashionable), to firearms, styled as sewing machines and other tools for sewing chic clothes.
What’s interesting, we will not kill criminals, but turn them into normal people – add color to their”bow”, fill their images with accessories, completely change the spoiled taste of”criminals”. Way of the Hunter

Love the hunt? Then this is the place for you. This is one of the best outdoor animal shooting simulators out there. At least, that’s what it seems at first glance. The game will take you into the wilderness – you’ll get to use a small hunting cabin, a rifle and a supply of ammo. And then your own story begins, which you will influence by making certain decisions.
The developers have added dozens of detailed animal species, huge maps with scenic locations, realistic prey-finding mechanics, and equally realistic ballistics. Graphics and animation are also on high level – you will literally plunge into the world of Way of the Hunter and won’t want to leave it. Plus, there is a story that tells about the difficulties of hunting, as well as friendship and rivalry between hunters.

Don’t you want some hardcore? Here comes”another Souls-lite” in a dark fantasy setting with cruel enemies, an unusual lore and an unconventional storyline. We will get to the kingdom of Hermes, where alchemy has turned from a useful science into a real nightmare – it has released a plague, created monsters and plunged all lands into chaos.
On behalf of the protagonist Corvus, we will try to set things right. To do so, we will curb the plague – take possession of the plague weapon and destroy all the monsters. Also we will be able to turn into a raven and shower enemies with sharp feathers. Improving and changing weapons and techniques Corvus, we will create the perfect character in our opinion. And at the same time, we’ll awaken the hero’s deepest memories to find the key to Hermes’ healing. The game will be hardcore, memorable and very unusual in comparison to other fantasy-souls-likes – maybe it will even shoot!
